The Croatian folk-group POLJANCI comes from Wulkaprodersdorf. The village has about 2000 inhabitants and lies in the east of Austria close to the Hungarian boarder. Founded in 1977 the group has about 100 memebers of every age, musicians who play the tamburitza, singers and dancers. Croatian songs are sung and accompanied by the tamburitza.
The aim of the group has always been to make children and teenagers feel enthusiastic for positive intentions of a group, the Croatian language, for our customs, costumes, folk-dances and songs, so that they are recorded, are preserved and handed on for the fun of all and for the honour of our country. more »
