Journey to the International festival in Budva

Journey to the International festival in Budva

Nine days, from the 5th to the 13th of July 2023 the POLJANCI travelled through Croatia and Montenegro.

After visiting the interesting Nikola Tesla museum in Smiljan, we enjoyed our first night in Split. In Ston we got to know how salt is won from seawater. For dinner some tried oysters for teh frst time.

Our goal was the International Festival in Budva, Montenegro, at which groups from all over Europe performed. We went swimming, visited theod towns of Budva and Kotor, by boat we visited the famous island Sveti Štefan, two times we performed, once in the centre of Old Budva, and once at the terasse of a big hotel at the beach.

After four days of dancing, singing, making music nad celebrating, we left for Dubrovnik. Using the ferry was a special exitement for the kids. The opening of the Dubrovnik summer festival, the walls, exellent food and the very good accomodation in the Students‘ centre made Dubrovnik a neverforgettable visit.

On the way to Šibenik we shipped in two canoes through the canals of the Neretvadelta and tried fried frog legs. The last evening in the hotel in Šibenik we enjoyed popular croatian songs of a live band. Te last stop of our journey were the Plitvicalakes. It was nice that we could once again travel further as POLJANCI. The POLJANCI enjoyed the first long travel after a period of nontrevelling.
